Crews sent to tackle straw bale and muck heap fire in Mellis near Eye

Four crews have been sent after straw bales and a muck heap caught fire in Mellis, near Eye.

Crews from Diss, Stradbroke, Stowmarket and Ixworth were sent at 1.55pm to the blaze at The Common.

They are still on the scene.

Straw bales and a surrounding muck heap were well alight when the fire service arrived.

Two hose reel jets and two telehandlers are being used to tackle the fire.
