Firefighters alerted to five acres of stubble fire in Dam Lane, Mellis, near Eye

Firefighters were called to a stubble fire in a Suffolk village.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue was alerted at 6.05pm to the incident involving five acres of stubble fire in Dam Lane, Mellis, near Eye.

Crews from Diss, Harleston and Debenham used hose reel jets and beaters to extinguish the blaze.

A stop was called about four hours later, at 9.48pm.
