Severe delays on A140 outside Mendlesham after petrol tanker breaks down

There are severe delays on a key route in Suffolk after a petrol tanker broke down.

Police were called at about 8.25am today to reports of a tanker that needed its tyre changing on the A140 between Mendlesham and Stonham Aspel.

A spokesperson for Suffolk Police said the road was not blocked and that traffic was having to swerve around the vehicle.

Officers are on their way to the scene.

According to the AA traffic map, there is very slow traffic in the area.
