Alderton: Army carries out controlled explosion of shell found in car park near Felixstowe

An unexploded shell has been detonated by army personnel at a Suffolk village car park.
A police cordon was in place at the recreation ground in Alderton, near Felixstowe, to close off a section of the car park.
A post from Suffolk Police said that an army bomb disposal team had been sent to to deal with the shell yesterday evening.
The cordon has now been lifted.
