Two taken to hospital after 'getting into difficulties' in sea at Felixstowe
Two people were taken to hospital after being rescued from the sea in Felixstowe on Friday, having become hypothermic and swallowed water.
The town's Coastguard Rescue Team said, in a post on Facebook, that they were called to reports that two people had become stuck in the mud near the Spa Pavilion.
When they arrived on scene, they found that two people had "got into difficulties in the water" opposite the Spa Pavilion.
They said one member of the team, who was in a drysuit, made their way into the water to rescue the two casualties.
Once they were rescued, the crew assisted the people, who had swallowed water and become hypothermic.
An ambulance then arrived on scene and the pair were taken to hospital.
