Fund-raiser launched after house fire in Langer Road, Felixstowe
A fund-raiser was launched following a fire which damaged a house.
Last Thursday, fire engines were dispatched to a three-storey terraced property in Langer Road, Felixstowe.
Residents living nearby were evacuated and a road closure was put in place.
Nobody was injured in the blaze, which started beneath a roof file at about 11.44am.
Following the incident, Sophie Cullum started a fund-raiser to help the affected family, which so far has seen £655 donated.
She said: “Please put yourself in this families position and find it in your heart to donate anything you can.
“Every penny will help and if you can’t donate please share this far and wide. Any clothing/toy donations are also welcome.
“Thanks in advance, let’s do all we can for this lovely family at this sad time and try and get a bit of normality for them.”
Sophie set a target of £5,000. To donate, click here.
Fire engines from Woodbridge, Orford, Leiston and Clare all responded to the fire which was dealt with shortly after 3 pm.
Firefighters used breathing and other specialist equipment, which they said dramatically reduced the spread of the fire.
