Digital learning enhanced at Felixstowe School thanks to iPad donations
Digital learning has been enhanced for sixth form students at Felixstowe School thanks to iPad donations.
The school has joined other sixth form campuses within Unity Schools Partnership donating iPads to its students.
Under the programme, all pupils currently studying at the school have been given an iPad and Xavier Norte, director of sixth form at Felixstowe School, confirmed this will continue for future years.
It is hoped the move will help to support the students’ work in the classroom and improve interactivity between staff and pupils.
Mr Norte said: “We are proud that our sixth form is leading the way in using technology to provide high quality teaching and learning.
“We believe we are one of the first sixth forms in the local area to give all our students iPads to use both in the classroom and at home.
“There are so many benefits for our students and our staff and everyone is very excited about this new development.”
The iPads have an educational app Showbie, which can provide both verbal and digital feedback immediately while student work can be shared and discussed in the classroom.
Prospective students and families will be able to learn more about digital learning at the school at an opening evening next Wednesday.
The donation of iPads to all sixth form students has been mirrored at Haverhill Community Sixth Form and Thomas Gainsborough School, both of which are part of Unity Schools Partnership.
