Woodbridge Fire Station share photos of damaged house in Langer Road, Felixstowe

A fire station has shared photos of a damaged terraced house in a seaside town after a busy day for firefighters in Suffolk.

As crews from across the county tackled a huge blaze at Sackers in Great Blakenham, five engines were called to a three-storey terraced property in Langer Road, Felixstowe.

In a Facebook update, a spokesperson for Woodbridge Fire Station said: “A busy day for the crew, as they were initially mobilised to a field fire, then an automatic fire alarm, and finally onto standby at Princes Street.”

The crew from Woodbridge was then sent to the house fire in Felixstowe at 11.44 am, with the first on the scene reporting smoke coming from the roof of the property.

Firefighters used breathing and other specialist equipment, which they said dramatically reduced the spread of the fire.

Fire engines from Woodbridge, Orford, Leiston and Clare all responded to the fire which had been dealt with shortly after 3 pm.
