Owners of Fantasy Paradigm in Orwell Road, Felixstowe, welcome customers to their new shop
A Felixstowe resident looking for a new venture has opened a fantasy merchandise gift shop to bring something unique to the town.
Paul Day welcomed customers to Fantasy Paradigm, in Orwell Road, along with his partner Chris Moore, earlier this month.
Both fans of the fantasy genre, they said their shop has something for everyone - including those who may not be fans of fantasy movies or books.
While many of the gifts are centred around movies such as Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings, there are also items unrelated to the fantasy genre, such as notebooks, purses and tote bags.
The 62-year-old said: “People have been telling us it’s great. It’s something different.
“My partner is Harry Potter mad. Two of our shelving units at home are filled with Harry Potter collectables.
“Over the last couple of years, we spent our time travelling to Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge and even Oxfordshire to find this sort of stuff because there was nothing in Felixstowe.
“So rather than chasing around, we thought we would bring it to Felixstowe and let people see what’s available. We had really good comments from customers so far.”
Chris said he always wanted to have his own business and it was exciting to have something to call his own.
He added: “I was retired, and Chris used to work in Caffè Nero, but we didn’t have any routine in our lives, so we thought, let’s do our own thing and at the same time, bring something different to the town.”
The shop is open between Tuesday and Sunday.
