Candlet Road, in Felixstowe, reopens ahead of schedule after two month closure

A major town road which shut for two months has reopened ahead of schedule.

Candlet Road, in Felixstowe, opened to motorists yesterday evening after initially closing in early September.

The road now has a new roundabout, built by contractor Howard Construction, for a Bloor Homes development of 368 homes.

The roundabout will serve as an entrance to the North Felixstowe Garden Neighbourhood.

The road was shut from the junction with the A14 to Cowpasutre Drive and reopened ahead of its planned date on November 10.

However, Suffolk Highways said there may still be some minor traffic restrictions in place, including lane closures, narrow lanes or traffic lights, along the road in the coming weeks.
