Man arrested after crash in Sea Road, Felixstowe, leaves pedestrian in hospital with serious leg injury





A man has been arrested following a collision in a seaside town that left a pedestrian in hospital with a serious leg injury.

On Monday evening police were called by the ambulance service to reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian in Sea Road, Felixstowe, near the junction with Manwick Road, at about 9.55pm.

The pedestrian, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital.

The man riding the motorcycle – a blue Suzuki GSF 600 – came off the bike and fled the scene on foot.

On Tuesday, officers arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop after an accident, drug-driving, failing to report an accident, driving otherwise in accordance with a licence and driving without insurance.

He was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning and was subsequently released under investigation, pending further inquiries.

Motorists driving in the area at the time of the incident are being asked to review their dashcams for footage.
