Man found dead in Felixstowe named as Charlie Stephen David Greaves, 25, of Ipswich, as investigation continues
A 25-year-old man who died after a serious incident in a seaside town has been named, following the arrest of another man on suspicion of murder.
Police and ambulance were called to the seafront promenade by Undercliff Road West, in Felixstowe, at about 9.20pm on Saturday following reports of an assault, with one person believed to have been injured.
The injured man would have been seen with his dog, a brown and white Staffordshire bull terrier and boxer crossbreed.
The following day at 10.30am, police were called by the ambulance service to a property in Carr Road, where the injured individual was found dead.
The man has been identified as Charlie Stephen David Greaves, 25, of Ipswich, pending formal inquest confirmation.
A Home Office post-mortem examinatiob on Tuesday revealed Mr Greaves died as a result of a traumatic head injury, with further investigation ongoing.
A 28-year-old man from Felixstowe was arrested on Monday on suspicion of murder and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
He has been bailed to return to police on October 7.
Officers are asking any witnesses to the altercation or anyone with information to get in touch, quoting crime reference 37/45286/24.
This includes anyone with CCTV or video doorbell footage between Ranelagh Road and Undercliff Road West, or who might have been driving in the area with a dash camera between 8.30pm and 9.20pm.
