Felixstowe’s Ferris wheel officially opened with visit from town mayor

The opening of a popular Ferris wheel was marked with a visit from a town mayor.

On Saturday, Cllr David Rowe visited Felixstowe’s promenade to officially commemorate the return of the wheel to the town.

The 34.5-metre high attraction secured a permanent spot by the seaside earlier this year and opened to visitors in May.

Cllr Rowe, who even secured a ride, said: “We're thrilled to welcome the Ferris wheel back for another fantastic season.

“Last week, the owner of Observations Attractions Company, Paul Hedges, generously donated £2,000 to the Mayor’s charity fund.

“I had the pleasure of riding in the VIP carriage. The views were breathtaking - there's nothing quite like seeing Felixstowe from up there and it's an experience I wholeheartedly recommend to everyone.”

The wheel offers a full of the town and will be running until mid-October.

It was first introduced to the town in August of last year.
