Over 1,200 musical egg shakers destined for Amazon detained at the Port of Felixstowe




More than 1,200 musical egg shakers have been detained at a port in Suffolk.

Suffolk Trading Standards' imports surveillance team seized 1,295 of the products from a consignment at the Port of Felixstowe.

According to a social media post by the agency, during drop and impact tests, the eggs broke open releasing the small inner balls presenting a serious risk of choking.

The products were also incorrectly labelled and technical documentation could not be matched.

The flexible plastic bags used for packaging was tested and posed an asphyxiation hazard due to the size of the bags.

They have been removed from sale with 379 units of inventory removed from their warehouse, after they were destined for Amazon.
