Photography competition to celebrate Felixstowe gets underway
Photographers in Felixstowe are being invited to take part in a competition showcasing the best of the seaside town.
The Felixstowe Photo Competition is underway for a third year of snapping, and entrants are in with a chance of winning a £100 prize to put towards photographic equipment, plus an enlarged copy of their photo.
Officials say Felixstowe is a "unique, exciting and diverse location" for photo opportunities, with seaside fun, beautiful gardens, huge container ships, historic buildings and rich wildlife habitats.
Photographers of all ages and abilities are invited to submit their favourite shots into the competition, which is organised and supported by Visit Felixstowe, Felixstowe Town Council and the Landguard Partnership.
There are three competition themes to choose from: Young Photographer (open to those aged 16 years and under only); Seashore; and Architecture.
Entrants can submit their photograph to the competition by emailing visitfelixstowe@eastsuffolk.gov.uk.
People are asked to include their full name, age, a telephone number and the theme they would like to enter. Closing date for entry is 12pm on Wednesday, March 24, 2021.
Mayor of Felixstowe, Cllr Mark Jepson said: “After two hugely successful years, I am looking forward to seeing a new set of wonderful images over the three new themes.
"With all the challenges of 2020, this is a great way for everyone to come together and celebrate our fabulous seaside town”.
