Langer Road in Felixstowe closed as fire engines from across Suffolk respond to a house fire




Residents were evacuated as firefighters tackled a house fire in a seaside town.

Suffolk Police said that Langer Road in Felixstowe was closed near to Beach Station Road, due to the fire.

Fire engines were called to the scene at 11.44 am, as other firefighters from across the county respond to a huge blaze in Great Blakenham.

A spokesperson said the blaze involved a mid-terrace three-storey house and it started beneath a roof file.

The police said some residents in the Langer Road area had been evacuated as a precaution.

No-one was believed to have been injured in the fire and everyone was safely out of the property.

Shortly before 2pm, a spokeswoman for the Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said the fire in the roof space of the building had been contained.
