Meadows was also accused of aggravated vehicle taking, failing to stop after a collision, using a motor vehicle without insurance and failing to report a collision.

Emergency services were called shortly after 2.30pm to reports of a collision between a white Nissan GTR and a pedestrian.

Mary was taken to Ipswich Hospital for treatment after the collision where she died.

Police, the ambulance service, East Anglian Air Ambulance and a paramedic from Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS) all attended the incident.

Meadows appeared at Suffolk Magistrates’ Court on November 20 for an initial hearing, where he was granted conditional bail for the proposed crown court hearing on Thursday.

No pleas were entered at that time.
