Lewis Meadows, 18, of Cliff Road, Felixstowe, appears at Suffolk Magistrates’ Court accused of causing death of Mary Kinsey by dangerous driving




A teenager has appeared in court accused of causing the death of a 74-year-old woman by dangerous driving.

SuffolkNews reported yesterday that Lewis Meadows, 18, of Cliff Road, Felixstowe, was charged with a number of offences after the crash in Church Road on Tuesday.

He was also accused of aggravated vehicle taking, failing to stop after a collision, using a motor vehicle without insurance and failing to report a collision.

Emergency services were called shortly after 2.30pm to reports of a collision between a white Nissan GTR and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, named by police as Mary Kinsey, of Felixstowe, was taken to Ipswich Hospital for treatment where she died.

Police, the ambulance service, East Anglian Air Ambulance and a paramedic from Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS) all attended the incident.

Meadows appeared at Suffolk Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

No pleas were entered.

He was remanded on conditional bail to appear before Suffolk Magistrates’ Court on December 19.
