Teenager charged with causing death by dangerous driving in Church Road, Felixstowe, after elderly woman dies single-vehicle crash
A teenager has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and other offences after an elderly woman died in a single-vehicle crash.
Emergency services were called shortly after 2.30pm on Tuesday, to reports of a collision between a white Nissan GTR and a pedestrian in Church Road, Felixstowe.
Lewis Meadows, 18, of Cliff Road, Felixstowe, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle taking, failing to stop after a collision, using a motor vehicle without insurance and failing to report a collision.
He is due to appear at Suffolk Magistrates’ Court today.
The pedestrian, a woman in her 70s, was taken to Ipswich Hospital for treatment where she died.
Police, ambulance, East Anglian Air Ambulance and a paramedic from Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS) all attended the incident.
