Suffolk star Ed Sheeran has released a music video filmed in Ukraine's capital last year, with proceeds of its YouTube streams set to be donated to a humanitarian appeal.

Sheeran, of Framlingham, premiered the video to his latest song 2step, featuring American rapper Lil Baby, on his YouTube channel this morning - with it already being viewed more than 340,000 times.

The singer posted on Instagram earlier this week to reveal the video was filmed in Kyiv during what was his first time there in 2021.

He said the proceeds from the YouTube streams of the song will go to the Disasters Emergency Committee's Ukraine appeal.

In a statement at the start of the video, Sheeran described Ukraine as a 'proud and resilient' country and said he was 'grateful to have had the chance to film' his video there.

"I stand with Ukraine and will be donating my record royalties from YouTube streams of the video to the DEC's Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal," he said.

And in an Instagram post on Monday, Sheeran added: "We filmed the 2step video last year in Kyiv and although it was my first time there, I quickly loved the people and the place.

"There was no sign of the horror that was to come to Ukraine and my heart goes out to everyone there.

"The video comes out on Friday this week and proceeds from the YouTube streams will go to the DEC’s Ukraine appeal x"
