Teenager struck by car while crossing A12, near Saxmundham, taken to hospital with serious facial injuries
A teenager was seriously hurt and taken to hospital after being struck by a car while crossing the A12.
The southbound carriageway, near Saxmundham, was closed for more than two hours yesterday following the incident.
Officers alongside the ambulance service were called at 2.31pm.
The Essex and Herts Air Ambulance was also at the scene.
The 16-year-old boy was taken to Ipswich Hospital with serious facial injuries.
Police are asking for any witnesses to contact Suffolk Police, quoting reference CAD 158 of June 9.
The carriageway reopened just before 5pm.
