Crews from Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich, Stowmarket and more attend field fire in Kersey, near Hadleigh

Firefighters are currently battling a fire on a four-acre field near Hadleigh.

Six fire crews, comprising teams from Colchester, Ipswich, Stowmarket, Sudbury, Long Melford and Bury St Edmunds, were alerted to a field fire in Wickerstreet Green, Kersey, at 11.40am.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said the blaze started on stubble, but later spread to hedgerows.

She said teams were making good progress, and were making use of a unimog.

Firefighters left the scene at 2.23pm.
