Stoke By Nayland bird flu case confirmed and area placed in prevention and surveillance zones

A further case of bird flu has been confirmed at a commercial premises in Stoke By Nayland near Hadleigh.
Suffolk Trading Standards tweeted that the avian influenza H5N1 was found at the site yesterday.
A 3km protection zone and a 10km surveillance zone has been put in place around the premises.
The update follows news that Suffolk has been placed in an Avian Influenza Prevention Zone after multiple outbreaks across the county.
Suffolk Trading Standards will now be making contact with properties within the 3km protection zone in order to note where poultry are and advise keepers.
All poultry on the infected premises will be humanely culled.
