A1141 crash at Monk’s Eleigh, between Sudbury and Hadleigh, sees person injured and road closed




Someone has been injured and a road remains closed after a two-vehicle crash between Sudbury and Hadleigh this morning.

All emergency services are at the scene of a collision involving a bus and a van on the A1141 at Monk’s Eleigh, at the junction with the B1115.

Police, ambulance crews, the air ambulance service and four fire engines, from Hadleigh, Sudbury, Long Melford and Bury St Edmunds, were alerted to the incident shortly after 7.30am.

A spokesman for Suffolk Police said it was likely the road would remain closed for some time.

The extent of the injuries is currently unknown, although a spokesman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service revealed there was one male casualty.

Someone was also trapped in a vehicle.

A spokeswoman from the East of England Ambulance service said: “We were called at 7.31am with reports of a collision on the B1115, Semer.

“We sent two ambulances, an ambulance officer vehicle and Essex and Herts Ambulance.

“One person was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital by air ambulance for further care.”
