They said oil was on the road, which was partially blocked but traffic could head towards Ipswich.

The westbound closure was between the Duke Street junction and Wilderness Hill.

The ambulance service attended but injuries were understood to be minor.

Recovery for the vehicles was called.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said an ambulance was sent to the scene and assessed two patients, an adult man and woman.

Both patients were taken to Ipswich Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
