Monks Eleigh, near Hadleigh, house fire: Pictures show aftermath of blaze




Firefighters have left the scene of a house fire near Hadleigh – as pictures from the incident have arisen.

Crews from Hadleigh, Sudbury and Long Melford were called to the scene in Church Field, Monks Eleigh, shortly after 7am today, following reports of smoke rising from a house.

Firefighters found a fire in one room, and extinguished it with two jets.

No-one was injured and the fire was out by 8.03am, although crews remained at the scene.

Hadleigh Fire station used the incident to remind residents of the importance of smoke alarms.

The house’s owners were out at the time, but neighbours were alerted by an alarm going off.

Firefighters have now left the scene.
