A planning statement said following withdrawal of a previous planning application, the applicant has sought to enhance the overall appearance of the property by including changes through discussions with council officers.

It said the changes proposed represented a positive enhancement regarding the relationship to neighbouring properties.

An application for advertisement consent for the property, from Thurairajah Mukunthn, for a display of inside and outside signage for a shop was refused on January 18.

A planning statement showed signage for a Premier store.

A refusal notice said the proposal by means of its materials, design and size would cause an unacceptable level of harm to the amenity of the area.
