Hadleigh’s EACH store in High Street gears up to celebrate 10 years in business
Live music, cake and tombola will be on offer as a store in Hadleigh marks a major milestone.
East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH)’s store in High Street turns 10 this weekend – and volunteers are gearing up to mark the anniversary with its customers on Saturday.
Opening for business in October 2013, it was the charity’s 15th store when it launched.
Now, it is one of 47 stores across Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire – and the charity said it continues to go from strength to strength.
Mike Farrell, who has been manager since August 2020, said staff were very proud of the shop, which has ‘become a popular and established part of the community’.
Mike said: “We’re very thankful to everyone who’s played some part – not least our loyal volunteers and customers.
“It’s a great team and we’re keen to mark our tenth birthday in style.
“Everyone is welcome to come along and join us and it should be fun.”
Staff will celebrate the big day with customers by sharing cake, organising tombola and a raffle, alongside live music – with performances from both volunteers and customers.
The store is always looking for volunteers, Mike said.
He hoped to encourage people to give up some of their time to help keep the doors open.
Mike added: “We’re always looking to grow our fantastic team.
“We can never have enough extra help and every pair of hands makes a huge difference.
“Even if it’s just a day, morning or afternoon a week, it would certainly help and there are various roles, to suit people’s strengths and interests.
“We’d particularly love to hear from anyone keen to serve customers on Saturdays. That’s a role we urgently need to fill.
“It’s a hugely busy day and we’d love to hear from young people, especially, who might like to gain experience working in a retail environment.”
