Teenage boy released under investigation following alleged serious sexual assault in Calais Street in Hadleigh




A teenage boy who was arrested following allegations of a serious sexual assault in Hadleigh has been released under investigation.

The 14-year-old answered police bail yesterday following the alleged assault that took place between 6pm and 10.30pm on Friday April 22 in an alleyway off Calais Street near Morrisons.

The teenager was arrested in connection with the offence on April 24 and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

He was then released on bail, which ended yesterday, pending further inquiries.

The victim, a teenage girl, is being supported by specialist trained officers as police inquiries continue.

Today, a Suffolk Constabulary spokesperson said: "The suspect is no longer on police bail, but is now released under investigation pending further enquiries."
