Teenager released on bail following alleged serious sexual assault in Calais Street in Hadleigh
A teenage boy who was arrested following an allegation of a serious sexual assault in Hadleigh has been released on bail.
The incident was between 6pm and 10.30pm on Friday in an alleyway off Calais Street near Morrisons.
The offence was reported to police the following day.
A 14-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the offence yesterday morning and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
He has since been released on bail until May 22 pending further inquiries.
The victim, a teenage girl, is being supported by specialist trained officers as police inquiries continue.
A cordon that was in place in the alleyway has since been lifted.
Detectives would like to hear from any witnesses who were in the Calais Street area around the time of the assault who might be able to assist with the investigation.
