Trial date set in case of Hadleigh 85-year-old David Walmsley, accused of attempting to murder his wife
An 85-year-old man accused of attempting to murder his wife will stand trial at the end of November.
David Walmsley, of Meadows Way, Hadleigh, appeared before Ipswich Crown Court today.
Judge Martyn Levett said the pensioner will stand trial on November 20, although Walmsley has yet to enter a plea over the charge of attempted murder.
He was arrested on May 28 this year, the day of the alleged offence.
Christopher Paxton KC, representing Walmsley, said that the defence was looking to obtain further medical evidence in the case ahead of trial.
The defendant has been remanded in custody.
