Haverhill Beer Weekend focuses on local tipples and live musical acts on its return

All things local will be taking centre stage when the Haverhill Beer Weekend returns this year.

Haverhill Arts Centre will once again host the two-day event, running from midday to 11pm on both Friday, June 20 and Saturday, June 21, with an abundance of beers, ales and ciders to suit all taste buds.

This year the organisers are celebrating the contributions and talents of the region, with local breweries serving beers and ales, all enjoyed to the sounds of live music being performed by local musicians.

Sara Marsh, from Haverhill Town Council, said: “We are delighted to have the Haverhill Beer Weekend back for another year following on from the success of last year’s event.

“This year we are celebrating all things local, from locally sourced beers and ales to local musical performances across both days.

“The Beer Weekend is a brilliant event right on Haverhill’s doorstep and not only allows people to sample beer from the best local breweries, but is also a fantastic place to socialise and hear music from talented local performers.

“A special thanks goes to the local CAMRA volunteers, without whom this event would not be possible.”

The Haverhill Beer Weekend has been set up so that the whole family can enjoy it, says the town council.

For those not old enough to sample the beer, there will be several children’s games and activities to keep little ones entertained, including board games, Jenga and various arts and craft activities.

Tickets for this year’s event are £15, which includes a £4 entry fee to enjoy the atmosphere and live music, a £1 glass deposit and two, £5 beer cards.

For the designated drivers there is an entry only ticket for £4, which includes selected soft drinks at no extra charge.

Musical acts this year include jazz piano with Amandine Ward and showcase performances from Haverhill Open Mic Night regulars, Steve Spall So-Low and Slim Picken’s.
