Hundreds flock to 'successful' Kedington Easter egg hunt
Around 300-400 people enjoyed some Easter fun on Saturday as they hunted for chocolate prizes.
Children and families met at the Great Meadow in Kedington, near Haverhill, to scavenge for coloured blocks which could then be exchanged for Easter eggs.
All 650 eggs were found at the event organised by the Haverhill branch of the Ipswich Town FC Supporters Club and Kedington Community Association (KCA) and the special gold block was found by Ivy and Lewis which was exchanged for an extra large egg.
Hot and cold drinks and bacon rolls, sausage rolls and homemade cakes were provided by the KCA. There was also a mega raffle with prizes donated by local shops.
One of the organisers Stuart Isaacs said: “We were surprised by the number of people and more surprised by the generosity of the local shops who supported the event because it’s a hard time for people. We had about 25 prizes donated. It was absolutely fantastic. It was the most successful one we’ve ever run.”
The main sponsors were Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Sofina.
