Armed police swoop on Haverhill address after firearms were reportedly seen
Armed police were called to a house in Haverhill on Monday in response to a report that firearms had been seen.
Police were called by a member of the public at 12.15pm, reporting concerns for the safety of a man who they believed had been coerced into a car in Connaught Road, and that the other occupants of the vehicle may be in possession of a firearm.
A police spokesman said: “Local officers and armed police units were immediately dispatched to investigate the allegation and they later located the man whose welfare was of concern to the initial caller.”
"At this time no offences have been disclosed, but officers are continuing to investigate the matter. The report of the firearm in the vehicle has also not been corroborated at this stage.”
