Two teenagers arrested after arson attack in Haverhill

Police investigating an arson that destroyed one of the buildings on the derelict Atterton & Ellis site in Hamlet Green, Haverhill have arrested two teenagers.

Officers were called on around 3.40am yesterday, Monday, September 10, to reports of a large fire in the building.

Fire crews from Haverhill, Linton, Clare, Cambridge and Ixworth attended the incident, where they found the timber construction completely ablaze. They declared the incident closed just after 7am.

Two 17-year-old boys were arrested yesterday afternoon and brought to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning. Both have been released under investigation while enquires continue.
