A series of arson attacks trashed four public bins in Haverhill




An investigation is underway after a number of bins were set on fire in one area of Haverhill.

Police were called shortly after 7.25pm on Saturday, February 20 following reports that four council-owned bins had been set alight deliberately in Vange Place, near Tesco.

A fire crew from Haverhill attended and extinguished all of the burning bins, which were all reported to the emergency services in between about 7.20pm and 7.50pm before serious damage could be caused.

Any witnesses should contact Suffolk police on 101, quoting crime ref 37/8625/21.

Police were called later that evening, shortly after 8.55pm, following reports that a small bale of hay had been set alight deliberately in a car park in Clements Drive, Haverhill.

Officers are currently carrying out enquiries in order to establish whether the incidents are linked.
