Bid to convert Home Farm, in Chilton Street, near Clare, barn to four homes green lit by West Suffolk Council
A bid to convert a farm barn to four homes has been given the green light.
West Suffolk Council approved the plans from Roger Dennis for the site at Home Farm, in Chilton Street, near Clare, on October 23.
It will see the barn, which was built in the mid 20th century, converted to four terraced three-bedroom units spread across two floors.
It has most recently been used as vehicle storage and a workshop for the farm.
Each property will have a floor area of 150 square metres.
The homes will have one bedroom on the ground floor and two on the upper floor. The upstairs bedrooms will be en suite.
Living space will be open plan with a kitchen, dining and family room area alongside a separate utility room and downstairs bathroom.
Each home will have two parking spaces.
The barn will be re-roofed with corrugated sheet metal while the existing cladding will be replaced.
