Haverhill residents invited to help decide how £75,000 of funding can improve their community
The people of Haverhill South are being invited to have their say on how £75,000 can be used to improve their own community.
The Local Conversation Project, the creator of the Puddlebrook BMX Pump Track in Greenfields Way, is holding two consultation days where people will be able to discuss how to use the funding for their community.
The events are organised by Haverhill South People’s Forum, a group of residents supporting the Local Conversation (funded by People’s Health Trust) who make sure the voice of local people is heard, helping them to take action together on the things that matter to them.
The consultation events will be held at The Leiston Centre, on Saturday, January 11, from 10am to 1pm and on Thursday, January 16, from 3pm to 5pm (when young people are welcome to share their vision over pizza) and from 6pm to 9pm.
Helen Cullup, Haverhill South community worker for the Local Conversation Project, said: “Health and wellbeing, young people, families and community are topics that have been highlighted at meetings in the past, but there may also be other priorities that people believe will make a difference to their community.
“During the event there will be the opportunity to meet other residents and develop a shared vision for the neighbourhood and plan together what actions need to happen to make Haverhill South an even better place to live, work and age in 2020 and beyond.”
