Decorations in Haverhill street showcase community spirit

Haverhill residents have decorated their street to showcase their community spirit and support for the NHS.

The banners and bunting are bringing some colour to Waveney Terrace and boosting morale for key workers who live there.

Resident Sarah Adderson, 44, said: “We did it to brighten up the street and bring a bit of positivity to let people know you may be isolated but you’re not alone, there’s always someone there to help you.

“It was just to bring a smile to everyone walking through to make people feel a bit better in this horrible time.

“It took about four days to decorate the street. We kept adding little bits and pieces. Before we knew it, we had 10 or 11 buntings going from house to house.”

On Monday, Miss Adderson dressed as a bunny to deliver pots of crayons, bouncy balls, balloons and bubbles for the children in the street.
