New industrial units at Haverhill Business Park move nearer completion after planning approval
Plans to build five new industrial units on land next to Culina Logistics on Haverhill Business Park can now move ahead.
Outline planning permission was already in place for the units but last week West Suffolk Council’s development control committee approved an application by Trebor Developments/Hillwood relating to their appearance, landscaping, layout and scale.
The developers said they now aimed to commence construction in the autumn and ‘deliver a range of high quality, speculative, industrial units in 2020, ranging from 12,915sqft to 64,734sqft, each with secure yards and high ratios of car parking’.
Trebor/Hillwood acquired the site earlier this year, with a view to proceeding with development as soon as possible, so granting of planning approval is the key milestone in achieving that objective.
Bob Tattrie, managing partner of Trebor Developments, on behalf of the parties said: “We are delighted to obtain planning and are now able to move forward with contractor selection and start on site.
“Marketing of the development has commenced, with some strong initial interest in these sizes of units, which of new build quality are not available within a 50-mile radius and we offer at a substantial discount, compared with the Cambridge market.”
A management plan must be submitted and approved by the council for each unit and phase of work, including hours of operation and deliveries and noise mitigation measures, before any unit can be occupied.
Trebor / Hillwood are represented by M1 (London) and Bidwells (locally). Proposals are now available for occupier consideration.
