Car crashes into building in Camps Road, Haverhill, with police, fire service, Cadent, structural engineer and UK Power Networks called




Emergency services, power firms and a structural engineer were called after a car crashed into a building in Haverhill.

Suffolk Police was alerted just before 9pm yesterday to the incident in Camps Road.

A police spokeswoman said it was believed gas lines had been hit and the fire service was called at 9.29pm.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service attended as well as Cadent and a structural engineer.

A Cadent spokesperson said they were called as a precaution.

They said the incident didn’t affect the gas supply.

UK Power Networks was also requested to attend.

A UK Power Networks spokesperson said: “We were alerted to the Camps Road incident last night by Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service at 10.08pm.

“Our engineers attended the scene and established that none of our equipment was damaged in the incident.”

The fire service, which sent two engines from Clare and Haverhill, left the scene by 11.08pm.
