Haverhill employment development could create 140 jobs
Plans for an employment development behind a Haverhill retail park could create up to 140 jobs.
Outline plans have been submitted to West Suffolk Council for a 4,519 sqm building on undeveloped land at Stour Valley Road.
The £3.5 million investment would, according to a planning statement, ‘transform this gateway site at a key entrance to the town and represents an important and very visible sign of confidence in the town’.
The front half of the site is now a £5 million three-store retail development, occupied by Lidl, Pets at Home and one vacant unit. Outline plans for the same site were previously approved in July 2016.
According to a design statement, applicant Howard Haverhill Limited is in ‘advanced talks’ with potential tenants for the new employment development.
