Empty shop in Haverhill to become a café following successful planning bid
Planning permission has been approved for a new café to open in the High Street, Haverhill.
A change of use planning application was submitted to West Suffolk Council by Mr D Dogan, of Bacton, Norfolk.
He asked to be able to change the former TUI travel agency shop into a café, a move that will see an extraction flue installed at the back of the building and a canopy at the front.
A design and access statement submitted as part of the planning process said: “This application proposes a sustainable and sensitive reuse of a currently vacant building in a prime High Street location.
“By converting the vacant property into a café and restaurant, the proposal will contribute to the vitality of the High Street, provide new employment opportunities, and enhance the area’s social and economic activity.”
