Haverhill properties near Stour Brook at risk after flood warning issued




A warning is in place at a Suffolk river as nearby homes and businesses are at risk of flooding.

The water levels of the Stour Brook from Meldham Bridge, Haverhill, to Linnetts Lane, Sturmer, are rising due to recent rainfall.

Riverside properties and the A1307 and A143 are most at risk as the Environment Agency confirm that flooding in the area is ‘likely’.

A yellow weather warning for rain in Suffolk is in place until 12pm.

The flood warning has been in place since 4.06am and an update will be given tomorrow.
