Haverhill Burton End Hazel Stub Depot industrial building could be converted into nine apartments if new proposals are successful
An industrial building in a Suffolk town could be converted into new apartments if plans submitted to a council are successful.
The building at Hazel Stub Depot in Burton End, Haverhill, would be transformed into nine new flats in proposals put to West Suffolk Council by applicant Baljit Virk on January 5.
Eight of these apartments would be two bedroom, while one would be a three-bedroom duplex apartment.
Proposals include an external car and bicycle park, as well as a refuse area and landscaping.
Under the new plans, the four flats on the ground floor will have their own enclosed garden areas and the other four flats would have shared use of a communal amenity space.
A previous application sought to demolish the existing building at the 0.63 hectare site to make way for nine new two storey houses, but after advice was given for refusal a new plan to convert was submitted.
The site is a 20 minute walk from the centre of town and less than 0.1 miles from the A1017.
