The EpiCentre at Haverhill Research Park becomes the new home for international company, Synergy Group Holdings




A company with UK and international interests in property, construction and renewable energy has taken a six-person office at Haverhill Research Park.

In addition to its property activities, Synergy Group Holdings’ business interests also include a leading 3D visualisation software development arm used in films such as Avatar and Star Wars, as well as a sustainable energy company based in Portugal.

Martin Knott, the owner of Synergy Group Holdings, said: “We were previously in Stevenage where I set up the company in 2001 but we have moved to The EpiCentre because we are doing a residential development at Balsham.

“It is just 10 minutes away so I can come and go as I please and it works well for me.

“I had driven past The EpiCentre a number of times and as I needed a space that I could lock up, leave at the end of the day and not to have to worry about it, this seemed ideal.

“Also, I have meetings with clients so wanted to be proud of where I am.”

On the property side Synergy Group Holdings has a number of subsidiary companies under its belt including Synergy Construction, Synergy Interiors and Synergy Developments with a number of development companies within the latter, as well as Synergy International based in Lisbon.

Helen Earl, the centre manager of The EpiCentre, said: “We are pleased that Martin sees the benefit to his business’ working in a modern environment with a community of amazing, like-minded businesses, together with on-site business support and a host of amenities that will help take a business to the next level.”

Synergy Construction is a main contracting business, with projects having a contract value of £0.5m to £40m, including commercial, residential, hospitality and logistics projects.

Synergy Interiors undertakes interior fit-out projects ranging from £0.25m to £10m on commercial properties, and it has just completed a major upgrade of the Montcalm Hotel in London’s West End.

In addition to its residential development in Balsham it has a scheme in for planning comprising 135 apartments in Hove, West Sussex.

It has just sold 14-acres in Leyland, Lancashire, with planning consent for 220,000 sq ft of light industrial and is looking at other opportunities.

Synergy International is focused mainly on the development of sustainable energy where it builds and funds solar, wind and hydrogen farms throughout Europe.

It is building its first hydrogen facility in Portugal for a manufacturing business and is looking at expanding into data centres with a sustainable energy requirement.
