Is your band the Bury Sound of 2016?

The Virtues, winners of last year’s Bury Sound headlined a special launch party at The Hunter Club in Bury St Edmunds on Saturday.

Saturday’s gig saw The Virtues joined by previous Bury Sound bands Atorc, Code of Conduct, Fortunato, The Staycations, and War Waves.

And the search for next year’s winner is now on. Bands and solo artist can enter the competition at www.burysound.com. The deadline for entries is Friday December 4.

A series of three heats will be held in February with the final on March 4.

Cllr Joanna Rayner, St Edmundsbury Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Leisure and Culture, said: “Over the last 18 years Bury Sound has grown in stature and it continues to offer a showcase for emerging talent making their first break into the music scene. The competition remain ever popular amongst young people and is part of that strong cultural mix of events that we are able to offer here in St Edmundsbury.”

The competition is being sponsored by St Edmundsbury Borough Council, The Hunter Club, The Apex and Washing Machine.
