Haverhill Music Hub sets up fund-raising show in aid of 11-year-old cancer sufferer
A fund-raising concert is being staged in Haverhill in support of an 11-year-old girl who is fighting a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer.
The concert at Haverhill Arts Centre on Friday, is being staged by the Haverhill Music Hub, based in Piperell Way.
Having been diagnosed with osteosarcoma, Isabelle is currently undergoing intensive chemotherapy and will soon face multiple life-altering surgeries which could save her life.
It could result in either amputation of her right leg or complex limb salvage operations, where as much of the leg is saved as possible, using bone grafts or metal implants.
“Isabelle and her family are on an unimaginably tough journey and we just wanted to come together to support them the way we know best – by putting on an amazing evening of entertainment,” said Tony Mumford, Isabelle’s drum teacher and founder of the music hub.
Shortly before her diagnosis, Isabelle passed her grade 3three on drums with merit, while she has been a student of Haverhill Music Hub for four years.
The concert will start at 7pm, with performances from talented local musicians ranging from rock to pop and everything in between.
Funds raised will go towards supporting the costs of Isabelle’s treatment and recovery.
Standard tickets are £5, with the option to donate more.
Haverhill Music Hub has been open since 2022 and has held a series of showcases that give its students a chance to perform in front of a live audience.
The showcases staged so far have all been free, but this time a fee is being charged raise money for Isabelle and her family.
