The organisers of one of Haverhill’s marquee free public events has announced a new main sponsor, but said more businesses would still be welcome to get involved.

Suffolk Building Society is this year’s main sponsor of the Haverhill Show, to be held on Sunday, July 3 on the Recreation Ground.

The show, which is Haverhill’s largest summer event of the year, relies upon the support and generosity of local businesses and Haverhill Town Council.

Haverhill Show Committee chair, Joe Mason, said: “I am delighted that Suffolk Building Society have agreed to become our main event sponsor this year, it’s great to see local businesses wanting to support community events.

“We really appreciate their involvement.”

Nathan Wade, head of membership at Suffolk Building Society added: “Our branch staff have been part of the Haverhill community since we opened our doors in the town in 1995.

“From supporting charities like REACH and SARS, to helping with the town’s floral displays, we’ll always do what we can for the local community.

“We’re really looking forward to lending our support to the Haverhill Show and hope it’s a huge success.”

Each year the Haverhill Show Committee not only looks for a main event sponsor but also sponsors of other attractions being staged on the recreation ground.

Treasurer Kelly Bennett added: “In addition to Suffolk Building Society being our main sponsor, we are also very pleased that other local businesses have come forward to support us.

“We are really thankful that Acrow Galvanising Ltd, Adams Harrison Solicitors, MENTA, Peasgood & Skeates and Sasha’s Studio have agreed to sponsor specific attractions on the day.”

There are still some opportunities for local business to get involved.
