Haverhill man Thomas Nash Hunter, 23, sentenced to more than four years in prison for drugs offences
A 23-year-old man from Suffolk has been sentenced to more than four years in prison for drugs offences.
Thomas Nash Hunter, of Duddery Road, Haverhill, appeared at Peterborough Crown Court on May 1.
He was sentenced after pleading guilty to a number of charges following a hearing on January 16.
The charges included:
- Being concerned in the supply of cocaine – 40 months of imprisonment
- Possession of a controlled Class B drug (cannabis) – 12 months of imprisonment (to be served concurrently)
- Being concerned in the supply of a controlled Class B drug (cannabis) - 40 months of imprisonment (to be served concurrently)
- Acquiring, using or possessing criminal property – 12 months of imprisonment (to be served concurrently)
Mr Hunter was also subject to a suspended sentence order and given a further sentence of 10 months of imprisonment, to be served consecutively.
In addition to the total four years and two months of custodial sentence, Mr Hunter was subject to a forfeiture order of £1,675 which will be distributed to charity.
Drugs, mobile phones, weapons and drug paraphernalia which were seized will be destroyed.
Sergeant Steven Fox, of the Haverhill Community Policing Team, said: “It is pleasing to see someone bringing these harmful substances onto our streets has now been detained, prosecuted and sentenced for his crimes.
“The financial forfeiture is hopefully an additional reminder of the consequences of getting involved in these illicit activities.”
